Opportunity to Comment on Grit Mill and Climbing Master Plan Project The Salt Lake Ranger District (SLRD) of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest is preparing an Environmental Assessment for the Grit Mill and Climbing Master Plan Project. The proposed project is located on the north side of State Highway 210 in Little Cottonwood Canyon. It extends from the Little Cottonwood Canyon (LCC) Park and Ride lot to the Grit Mill site, and is bordered on the north by the Twin Peaks Wilderness. The SLRD is proposing to implement a comprehensive plan to provide managed and sustainable access to climbing areas in Lower Cottonwood Canyon. Written, facsimile, hand-delivered, and electronic comments concerning this action will be accepted for 30 calendar days following the publication of this notice in the Salt Lake Tribune. The publication date in the newspaper of record is the exclusive means for calculating the comment period for this analysis. Those wishing to comment should not rely upon dates or timeframe information provided by any other source. The regulations prohibit extending the length of the comment period.
