Notice of Intent to Prepare Amendments to the Salt Lake County General Plan PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Salt Lake County, Utah intends to prepare amendments to Salt Lake County General Plans. The proposed amendments may include annual updates to all existing Salt Lake County General Plans as well as the creation of new plans where applicable. The proposed amendments will include comprehensive elements for the growth and development of land, transportation and circulation, open space and other elements considered appropriate within all areas of the unincorporated County as required by state law. Specific projects include: Parleys Canyon General Plan Big Cottonwood Canyon General Plan Little Cottonwood Canyon General Plan Bicycle Best Practice Additional Best Practice documents Updates to existing General Plans or new Specific Area plans. This notice is given pursuant to Utah Code Ann. 17-27a-203, and is being sent to those entitled to such notice under Utah Code Ann. 17-27a-203(1), including each "affected entity" under Utah Code Ann. 17-27a-203(1)(a). Each of the Affected Entities is invited and will have several opportunities to provide information for the County to consider in the process of preparing, adopting, and implementing the proposed plan amendments concerning (a) impacts that the use of land covered by the plan amendments may have on such Affected Entity: and (b) uses of land within the City that such Affected Entity is planning or considering that may conflict with the plan amendments. Pursuant to Utah Code Ann. 17-27a-204, the following represents the first public hearings at which such amendments could be considered: Kearns Township Planning Commission: April 8, 2012 4:00 p.m. Salt Lake County Planning Commission: April 10, 2012 8:30 a.m. Millcreek Township Planning Commission: April 10, 2012 4:00 p.m. Emigration Township Planning Commission: April 11, 2012 8:30 a.m. Meetings will be held in the Salt Lake County Council Chambers, Salt Lake County Government Center, Room #N1100, North Building, 2001 South State Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84190. Copperton Township Planning Commission: April 9, 2012 6:30 p.m. Meeting will be held at the Bingham Canyon Lions Club located at 8725 W. Hillcrest Street, Copperton, UT 84006. Magna Township Planning Commission: April 11, 2012 6:30 p.m. Meeting will be held will be held in the meeting room of the Salt Lake County Magna Library, 8950 W. Magna Main Street, Magna, UT 84044.
