Notice of Proposed Conveyance of Real Property by City of Orem (Rescheduled Public Hearing) Property Description: Approximately 54 acres of real property zoned R12 and located at approximately 1313 E. 800 N. (the lower (southern) nine holes of Cascade Golf Course). The City of Orem owns the property and has leased it to a private party until 2066 for use as a golf course. Proposal: The City will buy-out the long-term lease set to expire in 2066 so that it can immediately begin using the lower portion of the property for a public park. The City will purchase the lease by conveying its interest in the upper 37 acres of the property to the current golf course tenant. The upper 37 acres is zoned for residential development. The City will retain 20 acres of property for a public park. The public park property will consist of approximately 17 acres from the original golf course lease and approximately 3 acres of new adjacent property conveyed by the golf course tenant to the City. The current golf course tenant will construct, at its own expense, all improvements for the 20 acre public park. The City will own the park property and the park improvements. The proposal is designed to provide fair value to both the City and the golf course tenant. Rescheduled Public Hearing: The Orem City Council will consider this proposal at a public hearing held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in the Orem Council Chambers located at 56 N. State St., Orem, UT. (This meeting replaces the public hearing originally scheduled for April 9, 2013.)
